Mobile DPF Recovery, Done Properly
This is DPF recovery, not a quick flush.
A cheap flush pushes chemical through the filter and hopes for the best. We diagnose the cause, clean the filter to dealer standard, prove the result with a backpressure test, and back it for 30 days. Same job the main dealer does, done on your driveway, at a fraction of the price.
30 years of mechanical experience on every call-out.
Why MotorDoc Pro
- We fix the cause, not just the soot. A blocked DPF is usually a symptom. We find out why it blocked before we clean it.
- Dealer-level diagnostics, live engine data, the same class of tools the franchise garage uses.
- Fully mobile. We come to your home, your work, or the roadside. No garage drop-off, no courtesy-car juggling.
- Same-day appointments available across our patch.
- Fully insured, every job.
- 30-day warranty on the work, in writing. Thirty days is the industry standard and it is long enough: if something is wrong, it shows up fast.
How It Works
- Advanced diagnostics. Before we touch the filter, we plug in our dealer-level diagnostic tools and read the live data. If we find a faulty component, a melted pressure hose or a dead sensor, we can replace it on the spot instead of sending you away for a second visit.
- On-site 3-stage chemical clean. Our professional-grade chemical process dissolves the stubborn soot and ash inside the filter while it stays on the vehicle. No removal, no baking, no strip-down.
- Forced regeneration and reset. Once the filter is clean, we run a controlled forced regeneration and reset the vehicle’s ECU so the system starts fresh.
- Final backpressure test and warranty. We finish with a backpressure test that proves the result in numbers, then hand you the report. You drive away covered for 30 days.

Every Call-Out Starts With the Same Check
You booked a DPF clean. You still get the full check, because the filter is rarely where the problem starts.
A blocked DPF is a symptom. Something upstream put the soot there, and if we clean the filter without finding it, you will be booking us again in two months. So before anything gets touched, the whole system gets read.
Twelve checks. On every call-out. Included in the price.
- Full system scan. Every control unit on the car, not just the one that triggered the light. Live faults, stored faults, and recently cleared ones where the car will give them up.
- Live running data. What the engine is actually doing while it runs, not just what it wrote down earlier. Stored codes tell you where to look. Live data tells you what is happening.
- Airflow. How much air the engine is really drawing against what it thinks it is drawing. A wrong reading here quietly changes how much fuel goes in, and that is where soot comes from.
- DPF pressure sensor and its pipework. The sensor that tells your car how blocked the filter is. When the sensor fails, the car reports a blockage that was never there, or misses one that is. We have found these with split diaphragms sending the whole system chasing a fault that did not exist.
- Exhaust backpressure. The actual measurement of how restricted your filter is, in numbers. This is the one that tells us whether a clean will fix it or whether the filter is genuinely finished. You get the before and after figures.
- EGR valve, live actuator test. We drive the valve open and closed through the diagnostic tool and watch it respond in real time. Plenty of valves condemned by other garages pass this test. If yours works, we tell you, and you keep the money.
- EGR cooler and thermostat. A fouled cooler causes the exact same symptoms as a dead valve. A thermostat stuck open means the engine never gets hot enough to burn its own soot off. Miss either one and the fault comes straight back.
- Emissions sensors and AdBlue dosing. Your NOx sensors, upstream and downstream, compared against each other. That comparison is what tells us whether the emissions system is genuinely working or just reporting that it is. On AdBlue cars we also check the fluid is actually being injected, because a full tank and a warning light usually means a sensor, the injector or the tank heater.
- Regeneration history and exhaust temperatures. Your car tries to clean the filter itself on a longer drive. We look at why that keeps failing. Sometimes the exhaust simply never reaches the temperature it needs, and that is a different fault entirely.
- Fuelling and turbo. Injector behaviour in the live data, and a check for oil getting into the exhaust. One over-fuelling injector or a leaking turbo will fill a brand-new filter just as fast as it filled the old one. If something looks off, we go further.
- Hands on the car. Not everything shows up on a laptop. We physically go over the pipework and hoses, turbo pipes especially, looking for splits, tears and loose connections. A split turbo pipe bleeds away your boost and loads the filter, and it will not always throw a code. This is the part a plug-in code reader cannot do for you.
- Battery, charging and wiring. Not an afterthought. Emissions sensors are sensitive to low voltage, and a weak battery or a charging fault can permanently kill one. We have seen a sensor damaged beyond recovery this way, still throwing faults long after the electrical problem itself was fixed.
Then you get it in plain English. What we found, what actually needs doing, and what it costs. Before any work starts. If it turns out to be something simple, we say so. We are not here to invent problems.

What Else We Find
A blocked filter is where most people start. It is often not where the fault is. These three come up most.
EGR faults
A new valve often does not fix it, because the cooler or thermostat was the real cause.
We drive the valve open and closed through the diagnostic tool and watch it respond in real time. Plenty of valves condemned by other garages pass this test. A fouled cooler causes the exact same symptoms as a dead valve, and a thermostat stuck open means the engine never gets hot enough to burn its own soot off. Miss either one and the fault comes straight back.
AdBlue and SCR warnings
A full tank does not clear a sensor fault.
On AdBlue cars we check the fluid is actually being injected, because a full tank and a warning light usually means a sensor, the injector or the tank heater.
NOx sensor faults
Often killed by an electrical problem, and no amount of code-clearing brings one back.
Your NOx sensors, upstream and downstream, get compared against each other. That comparison is what tells us whether the emissions system is genuinely working or just reporting that it is. Emissions sensors are sensitive to low voltage, and a weak battery or a charging fault can permanently kill one. We have seen a sensor damaged beyond recovery this way, still throwing faults long after the electrical problem itself was fixed.
Why Proper DPF Recovery Matters
A blocked DPF is not just a warning light. Left alone it chokes your engine, kills your fuel economy, and eventually forces a replacement that can run into four figures at a dealer.
Cleaning it properly restores the airflow, clears the limp mode, brings the power back, and protects the parts around it. Do it once, do it right, and you avoid the big bill entirely.
Pricing
From £220
DPF clean and diagnostic
Most jobs land between £220 and £275, depending on make, model, how badly the filter is blocked and your location. Most visits take 60 to 90 minutes. You get the clean, the diagnostics, the report and the warranty in that price. No upsell theatre.
£150
Just want to know what’s wrong?
The same 12-point check plus a written report, no clean, no obligation.
If you then book the clean, the £150 comes off.
