FAILED DPF REGENERATION

Regeneration will not start or will not complete?

A forced regen is not a cure if the vehicle is refusing for a reason.

MotorDoc Pro finds out what is preventing DPF regeneration, checks whether the filter can be recovered and explains the correct next step.

REGENERATION HAS ENTRY CONDITIONS

The vehicle may be protecting itself from a failed regeneration.

The engine computer can refuse regeneration when it sees an active fault, implausible sensor data, low temperature, excessive soot loading or a problem creating the exhaust heat it needs.

Repeatedly forcing the process without finding that reason may achieve nothing and can increase risk. We check why regeneration is being blocked before deciding what to do.

WHAT WE SOLVE

Start with the problem you can see.

You do not need to know the correct technical name. Tell us what the car is doing and we work back to the cause.

01

Active faults

EGR, airflow, boost, temperature, pressure and fuel-system faults can all stop a regeneration request.

02

Incorrect temperatures

A thermostat or exhaust-temperature issue can prevent the conditions required to burn soot safely.

03

Pressure and soot loading

We assess whether the filter is genuinely restricted and whether regeneration remains appropriate.

04

Vehicle-specific causes

Some vehicles have known components, such as fuel vaporisers, that must operate before regeneration can succeed.

NO GUESSING. NO PARTS CANNON.

One visit. Three clear stages.

1

Find the blocking condition

We review fault status, temperatures, pressure, soot values and the regeneration history of the vehicle.

2

Decide what is safe

The data shows whether to repair an upstream fault, clean the DPF or support regeneration under controlled conditions.

3

Verify the outcome

After suitable work, we monitor pressure and regeneration behaviour and explain what could make the problem return.

ROOT CAUSE FIRST

A failed regen is a symptom. The important question is why it failed.

Clearing codes or repeatedly attempting regeneration may hide the warning briefly. Fixing the condition that prevents regeneration is what gives the vehicle a lasting result.

  • Active faults and inhibit reasons
  • DPF pressure and soot estimate
  • Coolant and exhaust temperatures
  • Regeneration history and operating data

COMMON REAL-WORLD PATTERN

The DPF was cleaned, but the warning returned.

When regeneration cannot complete because of a sensor, EGR, temperature or dosing fault, a clean filter can begin loading again. We check the operating conditions so the same cycle is not repeated.

CLEAR PRICE FOR THE RIGHT WORK

Call for an accurate quote.

The correct price depends on the vehicle, the warning shown and what testing or work is actually required. Give us the registration and symptoms, and we will explain the sensible starting point.
